Today, the German auto biggie BMW has launched the upgraded model of its SUV BMW X3 in India. The new BMW X3 SUV is available with two diesel engine options viz: BMW X3 XDrive 20d and BMW X3 XDrive 30d. This new upgraded variant of BMW X3 variant will be completely manufactured and assembled at BMW plant in Chennai. A second shift has been introduced at Chennai plant in order to enhance the production of new BMW X3 up to 11,000 units per year. On coming to the both the diesel variant the new X3 Xdrive20d and the new BMW X3 XDrive30d will be available at the cost of Rs 41,20,000 and Rs 47,90,000 respectively (ex showroom Delhi)
As for new BMW X3 specifications, the both the engines four-cylinder oil burner xDrive20d and 6 cylinder xDrive 30d will churns out the maximum power of 184 bhp and 258 bhp and the peak torque of 350 Nm and 560 Nm respectively. With these powerful engines the new SUV will offer a fuel efficiency of 9.4 kmpl on Indian roads. The pick up of the new BMW X3 is one of its best in the class. It takes mere 9.2 seconds to go from nil to 100 kmph. The gear box is likely to come up with a eight-speed automatic transmission option.
The dealers of BMW has commenced to take the bookings of new BMW X3. Thew company will start delivering new BMW X3 xDrive 20d from the start of the month of September whereas the deliveries of new X3 xDrive30d will start in October. Commenting on the launch of the second generation X3 the President of BMW India Dr. Andreas Schaaf said that the first generation of BMW X3 has created a benchmark in its segment and company is quite confident that this second generation of car will continue to maintain the position and strengthen the benchmark furthermore and accelerate the luxurious and dynamic characteristic of the brand.
